Epic Showdown

On September 11, 2007, two of the biggest hip hop superstars will battle it out, both releasing their third solo LP's in their career on the same release day. Both rappers have big egos, both have their own style, and both have been very successful in their young careers. Kanye West releases "Graduation," while 50 Cent releases "Curtis."

Kanye West, known by many for fashion, his egotiscal behavior for always claiming to be the best, his affiliation with the Roc, but mostly known for his remarkable beats and improving lyricism. "Graduation" is already proclaimed by Kanye to be one of the best top 10 rap albums of all-time. Kanye has said that his lyrics have been improving and that no one in the game could touch him lyrically, excluding Lil' Wayne, who Kanye deemed is the best there is right now. With two solid singles off his third LP, "Can't Tell Me Nothing," and "Stronger," Kanye hopes to push number one on the Billboard charts and send Mr. Curtis to number two.

50 Cent, undeniably one of the most well-known and recognizable figures in today's hip hop generation. With his debut solo album"Get Rich or Die Tryin'," selling over 12 million copies worldwide and his second solo album "The Massacre," selling over 9 million worldwide, there's is a lot of pressure being placed on 50 Cent and how well "Curtis," will sell. Many of his artists latest releases haven't sold to what was expected and now we will see if 50 Cent will be the one to help his label relevant. There is always controversy surrounding this rapper. His latest beefs have involved Dipset leader Cam'ron, to where 50 got the idea to change his album name from "Before I Self Destruct" to "Curtis." He released a song where he supposedly dissed Lil' Wayne and Baby for their "kissing" incident. With other news, 50 Cent is confident that he will land in the number one spot on the Billboard Charts and that he will reign supreme over Kanye West. With releasing his current single "I Get Money," a lot is expected on how much 50 Cent will sell.
